Learning the Business Side of Real Estate: JLL at FIU

Another inspiring RESA meeting took place this week, and it started off with something special: our own members taking the stage! Different groups presented their assignments, including News, Reel, Reflection, and Social. Each one showed creativity, teamwork, and passion, proving how much our members are growing as future professionals. It was great to see everyone take ownership and bring their ideas to life in front of the club.

After the student presentations, we had the honor of welcoming guest speakers from JLL (Jones Lang LaSalle), one of the biggest names in the real estate industry. They shared what it’s really like to work in commercial real estate, property management, and investment strategy, giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how the industry operates. Their insights on leadership, market trends, and career paths made everyone reflect on where we might fit in the real estate world.

To wrap up, we had a Q&A session where members got to ask all kinds of questions, from how to get started in the industry to what skills employers value most. The speakers were open, honest, and full of advice, making it an incredible learning moment for everyone. The meeting ended with new motivation in the air and a clear reminder of why being part of RESA means so much more than just attending; it’s about growing, connecting, and preparing for what’s next.
